Third Week of Advent - Joy
This week has been all about shining our Light for Jesus. This week’s focus in worship has been all about St Lucy – Lucy meaning ‘light’ – and how she shone her light for Jesus despite all the opposition she experienced. Following Jesus, doing the right thing, is not always easy – but we strive to do this each and every day. Year 1 have been helped in this challenge through our Advent Calendar promises – each day we are trying to do something extra.
Second Week of Advent - Peace
This week has been all about Advent. We have been thinking about the ways in which we can prepare ourselves to meet Jesus at Christmas. The Christmas preparations are wonderful, but have we prepared ourselves of the coming of Christ?
Jesus, King of Kings and Lord of Lords.
This week has been all about Jesus our King. On Sunday we celebrated the feast of Christ the King and the end of the Churches year, before the start of Advent this Sunday. Not only does this time of year provide us with a pause to reflect on what has gone by, it is also a chance to look forward and grow in our love for the Lord.
Do Not Be Afraid - Say Yes, like Mary!
This week has been all about Mary and the fact that she said YES to the Angel Gabriel. We have thought about times in our lives when we have said YES to a special job and how that makes us feel.
We will remember them
This week has been all about remembering. We have focused on our own families and also those members of the armed forces who have died in conflict. It has been so lovely to see so many of Year 1 buying poppies and wearing them with pride this week. It has been a reflective week.
Take a look at what we have been up to this week.....
I am so very proud of Year 1 this week. Due to staff illnesses, there have been many times this week where it has just been me and them, and they have risen to the challenge of independence like the stars that they are. So thank-you Year 1 – you have all worked very hard this half term, settling into your new routine brilliantly, and you deserve a lovely half term holiday.
"Give thanks in all circumstances...." 1 Thessalonians 5:18

Laudato Si
Caring for God's world world. We have talked a lot this week about looking after God’s wonderful world. We have thought about what we can all do to make the world a better place as God gave His world to everyone because He loves us so much.
Creation is the canvas on which God has painted His character.
This week we have been discussing how God's creation is an expression of His love for us. In the world around you, where can you see God's love for you?
