Welcome to our school
Our Lady’s is a happy school with a warm, friendly, caring Catholic ethos, which is central to the work and life of our school. We aim for every pupil at our Lady’s to leave knowing God’s love and being able to show God’s love. We want them to have enjoyed their learning thoroughly, striving to give 100% and achieving the very best that they can so that they are ready for the next part of their lives.
At Our Lady’s, we believe that all children are entitled to receive a high-quality, creative education that emphasises the importance of developing key skills as well as the whole child. We do this through the arts, the teaching of thinking skills, the encouraging of independent learning and the exploration of the Gospel values. We are passionate about reading and oracy and as such are focusing this year even more on these priorities. We are also seeking every opportunity to increase our children’s access to the latest IT, continually investing in the most useful devices to support learning.
We have the highest expectations of our children achieving their best in a safe, secure and happy environment. We model and expect outstanding behaviour, hard work and respect for everyone. We promote a culture of positivity and children are rewarded for their ‘can do’ attitude to school and life. Meaningful play times are an integral part of our day. Creativity outside the classroom is valued and encouraged and we are currently developing our outdoor spaces through grant applications.
Our vision for Our Lady’s is one of excellence in all areas, not just in academic capacities. Our school Motto is Care – Learn – Respect and we support this with, ‘in all things charity’ as we want our children to always be seeking to support those people in our local community as well as the wider world, who are in need. As a school family, each pupil, parent, staff member and governor is a valued member and we are proud of the warm welcome we extend to all of our visitors. Please feel free to make an appointment and come and look round. You will be made very welcome.
