This Week's Worship
This week's worship was led beautifully by Emily, Olivia and Kourtney. They focused on this week's Gospel where Jesus refers to us as 'The Salt of the Earth' and tells us to shine our lights!
This Week's Learning
Many of our morning English and Maths lessons this week have been used to go over the papers we did last week. I feel it is very important for the children to receive that feedback and look at rectifying any mistakes they made through human error. It also gave us the opportunity to delve deeper into those trickier questions looking at techniques to help us answer them on future papers. Your child also came home with their results for you to see this week; hopefully you have received them. If not, please do let me know and I will send another copy home.
In Science we wrote an explanation of how a periscope works, based around the concept of reflection. We then drew a scientific diagram of this and labelled it.
In Music this week Mrs Owen got the class performance ready! Today they performed their musical piece to me, using vocals and instruments to the song 'Happy'. I was very impressed!

In RE this week we were using some theological vocabulary to describe Jesus. We looked at the scripture passage 'The Feeding of the 5000' and explored the question 'What does John want us to know about who Jesus truly is?' The class were coming up with words and phrases such as 'The Incarnation', 'divine', 'Messiah' and 'miraculous'. I was so impressed with their knowledge and understanding of John's authorial intent.
In Art most of the class managed to finish their piece of religious art and they are proudly on display (see images below). Many teachers and pupils have commented on their displayed art, and how impressed they are with the quality!

Safer Internet Day!
On Tuesday, it was Safer Internet Day and in school we had a lesson exploring the topic: ‘Smart tech, safe choices – Exploring the safe and responsible use of AI’. We looked at the pros and cons of AI and what was 'okay' and 'not okay' when it comes to the use of AI. The class then used this information to design their own posters.
Keeping children and young people safe online is one of the biggest challenges facing society today and it is all of our responsibility to ensure that children are educated to make positive, informed choices when they are online. Below are some links and safety guides which you may find useful:
