Well done Year 5, we’ve had a super half term and you’ve all worked so hard. Hope you all have a lovely well deserved rest and be proud of what you have achieved this half term!
Edina Trust Bulb Plant project
On Wednesday, Year 5 planted their bulbs, daffodils and crocuses, in their own pot and placed them in one of our school garden areas. Over the next five and a half months the children will be watching over their bulbs to see when they first flower and to collect rainfall and temperature data daily to send off to the Edina Trust. Schools all over the UK are taking part and our data will be collated with theirs to contribute to finding out the effects of climate change. Take a look at our photos…
Bikeability Success
Well done to all those children in Year 5 who took part in Bikeability over the last two days. They all did amazing and achieved their Bikeability levels 1 and 2...
Our Golden Ticket winners…
During this half term, all children have been awarded a golden ticket for each three times they have read this term. Today, during our Golden Award celebration assembly, each class drew a golden ticket winner and our Golden Ticket winner for reading this half term was .... for Year 5. Along with the other winners, they have won a prize which has kindly been donated by the PTFA. Well done ....! ⭐️
Our Reading Champions!
Well done to our reading champions this half term, who all completed bookmarks for reading regularly at home. Let’s see if next half term we can see more reading champions. Don’t forget to keep up with your reading regularly and get your diaries signed. We're not seeing many diaries getting signed regularly and therefore children are missing out on reading stickers and golden tickets. We'll be updating diaries after half term so please support your child in keeping up with their reading during half term.

TTRS day
Today we celebrated Times Tables Rockstars day! Everyone in school looked fabulous dressed as either a rockstar or a number to mark the occasion. Year 5 were all involved in competing in the TTRS battles which took place throughout the day. Our battle was against Year 4 and Year 6 and Year 2 and Year 3 had their own battle. This morning, those children not taking part in Bikeability, also supported Year 2 in their TTRS battle which was lots of fun! Well done everyone!
The results are in...

At Our Lady's we like to support our parents/carers in Online Safety matters.
Keeping children and young people safe online is one of the biggest challenges facing society today and it is all of our responsibility to ensure that children are educated to make positive, informed choices when they are online.
This month’s online safety guide gives helpful advice about…
What Parents & Educators Need to Know about Fortnite. This online safety guide explores Fortnite’s newest updates, outlining potential concerns, including spending pressure, screen time increases, and unfiltered voice chat with other players.
We hope you find these guides informative and helpful in promoting the positive use of technology to make the online world a better and safer place for us all. Thank you.
