Thank-you for your generous Harvest donations. We had a lovely Harvest assembly on Monday morning, where each class shared a song or poem with the rest of the school. Year 3 performed their Harvest Time poem beautifully. I have spoken with the office and we are still waiting for a few photo permission slips to be returned to the office, so we know of any children who are not able to have their photo on the website. I look forward to sharing photos once we have a full class list with details of their photo permissions.
We continue to focus on Mary this month during our Prayer and Liturgy worships together. Last Thursday, Year 3 had their first class mass in Church. This is where they are the only class going from school, over to Church, to participate in Mass. Mrs Parker, Miss Sanderson and Miss Murray were very proud of their participation and enthusiasm.
Our learning this week...
In English, the children have heard a letter from the 'Town Mayor' explaining that we need to come up with a way to stop the Iron Man! The children are to write an explanation text about how we can trap the Iron Man over the next couple of weeks.
In Maths, we have started our addition and subtraction topic which will include mental and written methods. The children have been splitting numbers into hundreds, tens and ones using a hundreds, tens and ones place value grid to help them with this.
In Science, the children learned about muscles and their role within our body. Did you know, there are more than 600 muscles in the human body?!
Please ensure that you continue to sign your child’s reading records as they can have a sticker on their book mark for each day that they read to an adult at home. Once the book mark is full the children will receive a certificate. Also, will are giving out Golden Tickets for children who have read atleast 3 times in one week (Wednesday - Wednesday).
Today (Tuesday 14th October) all of the children have brought a letter home with their TTRS log in details. Please encourage the children to go on this website regularly to improve their speedy recall of their times tables. The children tend to really enjoy going on TTRS and it makes a big difference to their multiplication knowledge!

At Our Lady's we like to support our parents/carers in Online Safety matters.
Keeping children and young people safe online is one of the biggest challenges facing society today and it is all of our responsibility to ensure that children are educated to make positive, informed choices when they are online.
This month’s online safety guide gives helpful advice about…
What Parents & Educators Need to Know about FC26. This online safety guide explores EA FC 26 – the latest edition of the immensely popular football game. It flags potential risks, including in-game purchases, scams, and exposure to strangers via voice chat.
We hope you find these guides informative and helpful in promoting the positive use of technology to make the online world a better and safer place for us all. Thank you.
