Welcome Back!

Key Messages of the forthcoming Gospel Readings…
Children will learn that:

  • Jesus gives us His grace and the Holy Spirit, enabling us to see Him in a new way, with eyes of faith!

  • When we see and hear Jesus in a new way, we come to know His joy, hope, peace and love.

THANK YOU FOR YOUR SUPPORT OF THE BIG WALK FOR LENT - CAFOD FUNDRAISER

Well done to all the children for their efforts in our whole school fundraiser last half term during Lent and many thanks for all your kind donations.

Our learning this week…

In English we have started our new class text ‘Jemmy Button’ this is an interesting return narrative themed text. This week the children have been using dictionaries to explore a range of unfamiliar vocabulary from the story. They were able to think about the effect of these word choices on the reader.

In Maths we have been learning to find fractions of amounts and objects. The children were able to apply their knowledge to a range of real life word problems.

In Science, we have started our new topic on ‘Light’. We began by considering objects which are and are not sources of light and discussing how we know. We also completed an investigation to explore how light enables us to see objects and that dark is the opposite of light.

In RE we have been considering the importance of the paschal candle and the Easter Cross for Christians. The children were able to discuss and write about their ideas.

In PE, the children have been creating their own gymnastic sequences using a variety of balances. We have also been developing our bowling and batting skills in small sided rounders games.

WEDNESDAY WORD Please follow this link below to access the Gospel Readings for the forthcoming week, there are also some fun activities to complete, this is a fantastic family resource to share and celebrate with your child at home.
