'Trust in the Lord with all your heart' (Proverbs 3:5)

Put out into the deep and let down your nets for a catch.

Luke 5:4

The Gospel this week describes how Simon Peter, James and John were compelled to follow Jesus after witnessing a miraculous catch of fish. This reminds children that they too are invited to follow Jesus and become part of God’s family.

Key Messages for Whole School Worship

Key Messages
Children will understand that:

  • Simon Peter saw something special in the power of Jesus, demonstrated through His words and actions.

  • Like the first disciples, we too can trust Jesus.

  • We are all invited to follow Jesus and are welcome in God’s family.

At Our Lady's we like to support our parents/carers in Online Safety matters.

Keeping children and young people safe online is one of the biggest challenges facing society today and it is all of our responsibility to ensure that children are educated to make positive, informed choices when they are online.

This month’s online safety guide gives helpful advice about…

What Parents & Educators Need to Know about TikTok. This free guide explores the potential online safety risks of TikTok, letting you know how to safeguard children and young people who use the platform.

We hope you find these guides informative and helpful in promoting the positive use of technology to make the online world a better and safer place for us all. Thank you.

Our learning this week…

In RE, we have been thought about ways in which Christians understand and live out the messages of Jesus’ miracles and how these actions can bring them closer to God.

In English, we have been writing our own story setting narratives, thinking about how we can use a range of adjectives, verbs, adverbs and prepositions to create interest in our writing.

In Maths we have continued our topic on length and measurement. This week we have been converting units of measures in mm, cm and m, making comparisons using the greater than, less than and equal signs.

Spellings, times tables and homework

The children will be coming home with their spellings and homework on Monday 10th February , this needs to be returned by Tuesday 25th February 2025.

Please can you encourage your child to access the TT Rock Stars online, logins have been sent home this week.
