WHOLE SCHOOL CELEBRATION OF PENTECOST…

On Friday 17th May, we joined in a whole school liturgy in church to celebrated ‘Pentecost’. Father Frank led our liturgy, with Year 4 and Year 5 reading some scripture. Key Stage 1 enjoyed waving their streamers to show the coming of the Holy Spirit and each class learnt the word ‘peace’ in a different language. It was a lovely opportunity to celebrate and reflect on the importance of Pentecost as the ‘Birthday’ of our Christian Faith,

At Our Lady's we like to support our parents/carers in Online Safety matters.

Keeping children and young people safe online is one of the biggest challenges facing society today and it is all of our responsibility to ensure that children are educated to make positive, informed choices when they are online.

This month’s online safety guide gives helpful advice about…

What Parents and Educators Need to Know about Township This free information guide breaks down the popular online game Township: highlighting some online safety risks and offering tips on how to help children avoid them.

We hope you find this guide informative and helpful in promoting the positive use of technology to make the online world a better and safer place for us all.

Our learning this week…

In English, we have been continuing to explore our class text ‘ The Lost Happy Endings’ by Carol Ann Duffy. This week, we have started to plan our own stories based on the text.

In Maths we have been continuing to build our knowledge of decimals. This week we worked hard to order and round decimals to the nearest whole number.

In RE this week we explored the stories of the Ascension and Pentecost, we focused on the ‘Gifts of the Spirit’ and how Christians might live out these qualities in their own lives’.

Spellings, times tables and homework

The children will be continuing to learn their spellings and tables given out on Monday 13th May 2024, this needs to be returned by Monday 20th May 2024.

TTRS: please can you support your child to access this on a regular basis.

As the Year 4 Multiplication Times Table Check will take place after the half term break, please can you encourage your child to practise on a regular basis. The following link is a useful resource for practising and it is familiar to the children as we have been using this in class.
