Jesus said, “I am the vine, you are the branches. ” John 15:5

Key Messages (Week Beginning Monday 29th April 2024…)
Children will understand that:

  • Staying connected to Jesus helps us to bear good ‘fruit’.

  • The Holy Spirit can grow ‘fruit’ in our lives like love and kindness.

  • Praying, listening to the Gospel and receiving the Eucharist help to keep us connected.

Wednesday Word

At Our Lady's we like to support our parents/carers in Online Safety matters.

Keeping children and young people safe online is one of the biggest challenges facing society today and it is all of our responsibility to ensure that children are educated to make positive, informed choices when they are online.

This month’s online safety guide gives helpful advice about…

What Parents and Educators Need to Know about Township This free information guide breaks down the popular online game Township: highlighting some online safety risks and offering tips on how to help children avoid them.

We hope you find this guide informative and helpful in promoting the positive use of technology to make the online world a better and safer place for us all.

Pop Idol

Congratulations to all the children form Year 4 and Year 5 who auditioned for this year’s Pop Idol competition. The children all did themselves proud and we enjoyed their performances. It’s going to be a difficult decision to make but good luck everyone!

Our learning this week…

In English, we have been continuing to explore our class text ‘ The Lost Happy Endings’ by Carol Ann Duffy. This week, we focused on the use of description in the text and the use of the possessive apostrophe. The children worked hard to use possessive apostrophes within their own sentences, exploring the differences of singular and plural.

In Maths we have been continuing to build our knowledge of decimals. This week we explored the meaning of hundredths and we focused on ways to represent whole numbers and fractions as decimals. We used ten frames and place value grids to support our understanding further.

In RE this week we have been researching the life and work of St Peter, considering how he had a crucial role in the early church and how his story might inspire Christians in their own lives’.

Spellings, times tables and homework

The children will be continuing to learn their spellings and tables given out on Monday 15th April 2024, this needs to be returned by Monday 29th April 2024.

TTRS: please can you support your child to access this on a regular basis.

PE -

Please note, PE days are Tuesday and Wednesday.
