'And you are witnesses of these things' (Luke 24:48)

So you see how it is written that the Christ would suffer and on the third day rise from the dead, and that, in His name, repentance for the forgiveness of sins would be preached to all the nations, beginning from Jerusalem. You are witnesses to this.

Luke 24:46-48

Key Messages (Week beginning Monday 18th March 2024 )
Children will understand:

  • Jesus helped His disciples understand the Good News.

  • That Jesus’ Resurrection showed that Jesus is the Christ – the Son of God.

  • That Jesus calls us to be His witnesses by living our faith.

At Our Lady's we like to support our parents/carers in Online Safety matters.

Keeping children and young people safe online is one of the biggest challenges facing society today and it is all of our responsibility to ensure that children are educated to make positive, informed choices when they are online.

This month’s online safety guide gives helpful advice about…

What Parents and Carers Need to Know about Persuasive Design Online - This free online safety guide provides insight on persuasive design – highlighting its potential effect on behaviour and providing some tips to minimise its impact.

We hope you find this guide informative and helpful in promoting the positive use of technology to make the online world a better and safer place for us all.

Our learning this week…

In English, we have started our new class text ‘ The Lost Happy Endings’ by Carol Ann Duffy. This week, we began by exploring a selection of illustrations from the story, immersing ourselves in each scene considering what we might see, hear, smell and feel. The children enjoyed creating their own ‘freeze frames’ of each scene before writing their descriptions in detail.

In Maths we have been continuing to develop our knowledge of fractions. This week we focused on adding and subtracting fractions, applying our knowledge to a range of real life word problems. We also learnt about finding a fraction of a quantity, using bar models to support our understanding.

In RE this week we have been thinking about the importance of the Easter symbols. We researched five symbols in detail, making link to scripture. The children enjoyed creating their own ‘podcasts’ to present their understanding.

Spellings, times tables and homework

The children will be continuing to learn their spellings and tables given out on Tuesday 9th April 2024, this needs to be returned by Monday 15th April 2024.

TTRS: please can you support your child to access this on a regular basis.

PE -
