PERFECT PROMISES: GUIDANCE

God spoke all these words. He said, “I am the Lord your God who brought you out of the land of Egypt.”

Exodus 20:1-2

Key Messages (Week Beginning Monday 4th March)
Children will understand that:

  • God promises to guide us so we can live in freedom.

  • God guides us through His Word, through Jesus and through the Holy Spirit.

At Our Lady's we like to support our parents/carers in Online Safety matters.

Keeping children and young people safe online is one of the biggest challenges facing society today and it is all of our responsibility to ensure that children are educated to make positive, informed choices when they are online.

This month’s online safety guide gives helpful advice about…

What Parents and Carers Need to Know about Persuasive Design Online - This free online safety guide provides insight on persuasive design – highlighting its potential effect on behaviour and providing some tips to minimise its impact.

We hope you find this guide informative and helpful in promoting the positive use of technology to make the online world a better and safer place for us all.

It is World Book Day on Thursday 7th March! Children are invited to come to school dressed as their favourite book character, or to choose accessories to show their character. It would also be great if the children could bring in a copy of the book that their character is from. We look forward to seeing all the different book characters!

Year 4 and Year 5 Class Trip

Please see the letter that has come home today regards our class trip to Stratford Upon Avon to watch the new RSC production of Shakespeare’s play A Midsummer Night’s Dream, on Thursday 21st March 2024.

Our learning this week…

In English, we have started to explore the Shakespeare play ‘A Midsummer Night’s Dream’. This week we began by developing our understanding of the four worlds within the play and the children enjoyed the active approaches, using role play and freeze framing to grow our knowledge of the main events within each world.

In Maths we have begun our new topic on finding area of shape. This week we used counters to find area and made some comparisons between the area of different shapes. We also started to explore some new vocabulary that we will be using throughout the topic.

In RE this week we have started our new topic ‘Jesus. the Saviour’. We discussed some ways in which Jesus was truly God and at the same time truly human.. The children enjoyed using Bibles to find a range of references from the Gospel Writers to support their own point of view, focusing on Jesus as God and Jesus as human.

Spellings, times tables and homework

The children will be continuing to learn their spellings and tables given out on Monday 26th February 2024, this needs to be returned by Monday 4th March 2024.

The children have all come home with their login for TTRS, please can you support your child to access this on a regular basis.

PE -

Please note, PE days are Tuesday and Wednesday.
