'…so that everyone might believe…' John 1: 7

…so that everyone might believe…

John 1: 7

Key Messages of the forthcoming Gospel Reading… (Week Beginning 18th December 2023)

Children will learn that:

  • John the Baptist helped people to recognise Jesus, the light, and believe in Him.

  • The shepherds and wise men believed in and worshipped Jesus as their Saviour.

  • We too are called to believe in and worship Jesus, the Light of the World.

At Our Lady's we like to support our parents/carers in Online Safety matters.

Keeping children and young people safe online is one of the biggest challenges facing society today and it is all of our responsibility to ensure that children are educated to make positive, informed choices when they are online.

This month’s online safety guide gives helpful advice about…

Smart TVs As these internet-enabled entertainment systems rapidly become standard, find out how to guide children in using such devices safely.

We hope you find these guides informative and helpful in promoting the positive use of technology to make the online world a better and safer place for us all.

Our learning this week…

In English we have been planning, drafting and writing our own narratives based on the class text ‘Leaf’. The children have worked hard to include a range of fronted adverbials, adjectives and the correct use of sentence punctuation to organise their work effectively.

In Maths we have been growing our knowledge of multiplying and dividing by 10 and 100, with numbers up to 1000. The children have been working hard to use place value grids to represent the numbers and to show how we can make numbers 10 times bigger or 10 times smaller.

In RE this week we have been developing our understanding of the important role that Joseph had within the events of the Nativity. We have explored how Christians might be inspired by the trust that Joseph showed in God and how we might also show this trust in our own lives and towards others.

Spellings, times tables and homework

The children will be continuing to learn their spellings and tables given out on Monday 11th December, this needs to be returned by Monday 8th January 2024.

The children have all come home with their login for TTRS, please can you support your child to access this on a regular basis.

PE -

Please note, PE days will now be on a Tuesday and Wednesday.
