"Look, I am going to send my messenger before you…" Mark 1: 2

Look, I am going to send my messenger before you…

Mark 1: 2

Key Messages of the forthcoming Gospel Reading… (Week Beginning 11th December 2023)

Children will learn that:

  • Advent is a time of preparation for Jesus’ birth at Christmas and when He comes again.

  • John the Baptist and the angels were messengers of the good news.

  • We too can be messengers, sharing God’s message of love through our words and actions.

At Our Lady's we like to support our parents/carers in Online Safety matters.

Keeping children and young people safe online is one of the biggest challenges facing society today and it is all of our responsibility to ensure that children are educated to make positive, informed choices when they are online.

This month’s online safety guide gives helpful advice about…

Smart TVs As these internet-enabled entertainment systems rapidly become standard, find out how to guide children in using such devices safely.

We hope you find these guides informative and helpful in promoting the positive use of technology to make the online world a better and safer place for us all.

Our learning this week…

In English we have been exploring our new class text ‘Leaf’, discussing the actions of the characters within the story and considering ways in which we could use fronted adverbials to form our own sentences to describe the polar bear in the story and the setting.

In Maths we have been finding the perimeters of a range of rectangles and squares. The children have completed activities involving accurate measuring and we have applied this new learning to a variety of word problems linked to finding perimeter.

In RE this week we have been developing our understanding of the ‘Magnificat’ as Mary’s song of joy and praise. The children were able to explain some of the key vocabulary from the scripture and how Christians might show they are living these messages in their own lives’.

Spellings, times tables and homework

The children will be coming home with their spellings and homework on Monday 11th December, this needs to be returned by the following Monday.

The children have all come home with their login for TTRS, please can you support your child to access this on a regular basis.

PE -

Please note, PE days will now be on a Tuesday and Wednesday.
