This week's Gospel offers reassurance and encouragement for adults and children alike: when we are part of the vine, Jesus, we can be rooted and bear good fruit. This week's prayers help children to recognise that Jesus is the source of our strength and help them connect to Him through prayer so that each day they can bear good fruit, such as love, courage, and patience.

Part of the vine

We have been extremely busy with our learning in Year 3 this week. Here’s what we have been up to…

In English, the children have finished writing their first Egyptian mystery story and moved onto writing one more independently.

In Maths, the children have continued their fraction work.

In History, we have looked at what we can infer about Anglo Saxons from the finds at Sutton Hoo.

In PE, we have started the athletics unit, both jumping and throwing skills. We also danced on Thursday due to the inclement weather

In RE, we have been thinking about the Pentecost, what happened and how we could be good apostles. We also had our class mass, where Fr Frank invited us up to join him as apostles.

In art, we created our collages.

🌟 AWARD WINNERS! 🌟

The Golden Award went to Artie, for his attitude to learning.

The Writing Award went to Amara for her mystery writing.

The Maths award went to George, for the effort he is showing in maths lessons.

📌NOTICES 📌:

  • Reading records, reading books and water bottles need to be in school every day, please.

  • Y3’s PE days remain the same, Tuesdays and Thursdays. Earrings should not be worn on PE days.

  • Homework is available on the Y3 Homework section of the website.

  • Air-Up and similar bottles are not appropriate for school, we have had a few issues with them leaking.

The following resources are a great way of keeping you all informed of our current liturgy themes and of the weekly Gospel scripture, with some activities that the children can complete at home. We hope you find these resources useful and that they help you to support prayer and worship in your own homes.

At Our Lady's we like to support our parents/carers in Online Safety matters.

Keeping children and young people safe online is one of the biggest challenges facing society today and it is all of our responsibility to ensure that children are educated to make positive, informed choices when they are online.

This month’s online safety guide gives helpful advice about…

What Parents and Educators Need to Know about Township This free information guide breaks down the popular online game Township: highlighting some online safety risks and offering tips on how to help children avoid them.

We hope you find this guide informative and helpful in promoting the positive use of technology to make the online world a better and safer place for us all.

We hope you have a lovely weekend,

Mr Bourn and Mrs Dunford
