And taking the five loaves and the two fish, He looked up to Heaven and said a blessing over them. Then He broke the loaves and gave them to the disciples to set before the crowd. Luke 9:16

Over 2000 years ago, Jesus saw the peoples’ need, prayed and provided through an unbelievable miracle. Today He continues to provide for our hunger and need, especially in the Eucharist. During our worship this week, children will understand how we can offer the ‘loaves and fishes’ of our time, talents and prayer to Jesus. They will discover that He multiplies our offering and fills us with His love.

Key Messages of the Gospel that Children will be led to reflect on during our whole school worship this week…

Children will understand that:

  • Jesus feeds us by giving us just what we need physically and spiritually.

  • Our hearts and souls are fed with the Bread of Life in the Eucharist.

  • As the Body of Christ, we can give back by offering ourselves; giving our time and talents to Jesus – and Jesus enhances all that we offer.

Golden tickets and Extreme Reading Challenge

Just a reminder that during the Summer term, the whole school will continue taking part in our reading challenge. At the end of each half term, during our celebration assembly, we will draw a golden ticket from each class’s box, and one winner from each class will receive a reward. Please encourage your child to read regularly and bring in their signed reading diary so they can start collecting their golden tickets.

We’re also asking the children to take part in our extreme reading challenge. Your challenge is to take a photo of yourself reading somewhere extreme (but safe!) and send it in to school.

Please send your photos to admin@our-lady.blackpool.sch.uk so we can display these in school and on our website. We can't wait to see your pictures! Thank you for your support!

Spellings, times tables and homework

The children will be coming home with their spellings and homework on Monday 23rd June, this needs to be returned by Monday 30th June 2025.
