'Blessed be the God and the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ....' Ephesians 1:3

Dear Parents,

Well what a week it has been! I feel like I have been back for a term already, when in fact it is been just a couple of days!!

I have been working hard the last couple of days to sort out a plan to ensure the children at home are working hard, which I can see you are, and the children in school are working on exactly the same plan. Whether at home or at school, all children will have the same work to complete and have the same experiences to ensure that when we come back together I know we have all done the same work - that is the plan anyway!

As of Monday next week, I will be in school on Monday and Tuesday and Mrs Veasey will be in Wednesday, Thursday and Friday morning. We will both be delivering the same lessons form the HOME LEARNING on the website. If working from home, please send work through the Portfolio section of dojo - I know from the last lockdown that this keeps all the children's work in the same place and also makes a lovely record of their Home Learning that I can refer to once we are back in school.

For those in school, at the moment PE will just be on a MONDAY afternoon. Children do not need to bring their bags to school - as Mrs V and I will both be on our own for the day we will not be able to hear reading groups in the way that we could before or change reading books. Please keep up with reading at home though - read home books and use the Oxford Owl site for a wealth of free ebooks. this really is a great site and you can look at the correct age range of books for your child. Whilst we are out of school I cannot recommend this site highly enough. https://home.oxfordowl.co.uk/

I will aim to look at the work you send on the day you send it, but that will be harder on a Monday and Tuesday when I am in school, but I will certainly get back to you within 24 hours. The internet went down at school yesterday so I wasn't able to send messages or check work through the afternoon!

Any problems, just email me or send a message through Dojo. I know a few people have not had Education City logins - I can send you those if you let me know you haven't got your anymore due to changes of Reading Record.

I will post work for the following week on the HOME LEARNING pages of the website on a Friday afternoon so it it there for the week ahead. I am conscience of not giving 5 year old children too much screen time - so time away from the computer doing other things is important too. The main thing for me at the moment is that we all stay safe - so Year 1 - be good, work hard and stay safe.

Lots of love to you all....Mrs Hollinghurst

This lovely power point has come from Fr Jim - a blessing that we can all do in our own homes to celebrate the Feast of the Epiphany. Epiphany Power Point
