Unfortunately, there has been a delay in getting the new website up and running, which is why we are continuing to post here for this week’s blog. We anticipate that the new website should be up and running next week. Thank you!

Our learning this week…
In English the children have improved their 1969 lunar landing paragraphs. They’ve also been identifying tense and changing our writing between present and past tense. We’ve also been reading about Neil Armstrong and thinking about his character.
Our focus in maths has been reading, writing and partitioning 5- and 6- digit numbers.
In RE we have been learning about, and retelling, the key parts of the story of Moses and have learnt that the covenant with Moses is of great significance to people of the Jewish, Christian and Islamic faith.
This week’s prayer and liturgy was planned and led by Matilda and Jacob. Their liturgy was about God’s amazing love for all of us. In the Bible reading, Jesus tells us that God loved the world so much that He sent His only Son — not to punish us, but to save us. That means that no matter what, God’s love is always there for us.
“For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life." John 3:16
In science we have been learning about how day and night occur.
In Spanish we have continued to learn the seven days of the week.
In music we have listened to Livin on a Prayer by Bon Jovi and have dicussed the instruments used, found the pace of the music and identified the style of music. We completed some challenges and played along with the xylophone.
In PE the children are working with PE specialist Max from Blackpool Football Club Community Trust. The focus of their lessons this half term is hockey.
The new BEBCMAT Rock Stars Super League competition started this week and runs till the 24th October Good luck everyone!
Our school is currently in 4th place out of 15 schools in the trust and we have scored 570 points (school average score) so far.

At Our Lady's we like to support our parents/carers in Online Safety matters.
Keeping children and young people safe online is one of the biggest challenges facing society today and it is all of our responsibility to ensure that children are educated to make positive, informed choices when they are online.
This month’s online safety guide gives helpful advice about…
What Parents & Educators Need to Know about Snapchat This updated online safety guide examines Snapchat’s latest features, including AI tools, Snap Map, and subscription content, and the potential risks they pose to young users, from screen addiction to sextortion.
We hope you find these guides informative and helpful in promoting the positive use of technology to make the online world a better and safer place for us all. Thank you.
