Welcome back!

Welcome back Year 4!

It has been such a joy to be back with you all!

We have had an extremely busy first week back.

In English, we investigated images from the text we will be reading. We've not looked at the book yet, that will happen next week! We’ve made predictions, written some descriptive noun phrases, used fronted adverbials and used our imagination to write short narrative about the images we have seen.n

In Maths, we've been revisiting place value and rounding to the nearest ten and hundred.

In RE, we investigated the cultural, religious and historical context of Abraham.

In Geography, we studied the journey Rice Crispies take from where they are grown to the breakfast table.

In PE, we practiced skills for propelling balls in Boccia.

We have also taken time to talk about our feelings for the upcoming year and to agree a class charter.

Homework

As ever, please keep reading and practising times tables with your child! Spellings will

A few messages:

Please ensure that all clothes are fully named - particularly new jumpers which are often taken off in class.

Earrings can only be worn if they are plain silver or gold studs and MUST be removed for PE lessons on Tuesday and Wednesday. No other jewellery should be worn for school.

Each child has been given a new, school water bottle, they do not need to bring their own.

If you have any questions or issues, please don’t hesitate to talk to us.

Thank you,

Mr Bourn, Mrs Dunford and Mrs McCooey
