Pentecost (Copy)

This week, the Gospel gives us assurance that when we pray in the name of the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit, God hears us. Children’s prayers will centre on Jesus’ divine promise - to be with us. This requires that we remember Him and listen to Him.

It is the end of a very busy half term! I hope you all get chance to rest before the beginning of the next half term.

Arts week starts in June, we will be creating a 3d collage. For this we need shoeboxes, or shoebox sized boxes. If you have any spare that you do not need please send them in with your child.

We have been extremely busy with our learning in Year 3 this week. Here’s what we have been up to…

In English, we have written poems inspired by The Jumblies. We did not quite finish our class novel, I’ve found a video of a teacher reading it https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ppwMU8oiOWk&list=PLTu0_fe0F5VmwKkYKJeHyBue5Q2jqheIx&index=15

In Maths, we continued the time topic. The “Battle of the bands” ended, with Marton winning! Well done! There will be another competition in the new term, but there will be a daily 5 minute limit.

In Science, we observed how the plants are growing in different conditions, dyed daisies red and sorted seeds by how they are distributed.

In History, we evaluated whether Alfred the Great should have the title “Great” and gave reasons for our decisions.

In PE, we continued the Athletics module, running, jumping and throwing.

In RE, we have been considering the Mystery of the Holy Trinity and trying to describe the belief in it. .

We have finished our 2D collage unit, it was very difficult to choose which pieces to put up as display. I had to shuffle them together and pick at random!

🌟 AWARD WINNERS! 🌟

The Golden Award went to Noah, for his thoughtful attitude.

The Maths award went to Archer for his effort in his time work.

The Writing award went to Annie for her excellent History work.

📌NOTICES 📌:

  • Reading records, reading books and water bottles need to be in school every day, please.

  • Y3’s PE days remain the same, Tuesdays and Thursdays. Earrings should not be worn on PE days.

  • Homework is available on the Y3 Homework section of the website.

  • Air-Up and similar bottles are not appropriate for school, we have had a few issues with them leaking.

At Our Lady's we like to support our parents/carers in Online Safety matters.

Keeping children and young people safe online is one of the biggest challenges facing society today and it is all of our responsibility to ensure that children are educated to make positive, informed choices when they are online.

This month’s online safety guide gives helpful advice about…

What Parents and Educators Need to Know about Helldivers 2 This free Wake up Wednesday guide discusses the online safety risks of the video game Helldivers 2 and offers advice on how to safeguard younger players.

We hope you find this guide informative and helpful in promoting the positive use of technology to make the online world a better and safer place for us all.

We hope you have a lovely weekend and a safe and relaxing half term break.
