'One more step along the world I go...'

Good afternoon everyone,

It all seems to have gone by so very quickly but we have reached the end of Year 2… and of Key Stage 1! It has been a very busy year for us but also one filled with lots of happy and wonderful memories which I hope we all cherish forever. I am very proud of all the children; how far they have come, what they have achieved and how much they have grown. I wish them a summer holiday filled with play and laughter and a happy and memorable Year 3 experience with Mrs Parker. I know they are in excellent hands!

English - We have wrapped up our English by doing some vocabulary work and by examining the features of our example text.

Maths - In Maths we completed our work on statistics and collected our own data to represent data.

Science - We completed assessments to show just how much we have learned.

RE - We finished work on the early Christian community.

Geography - We learned about Uluru and wrote arguments about whether people should climb it or not.

PE - We used our last PE lesson to have a fun, explorative play. We set up team games and explored these.

Please enjoy the summer break. This is a time for play and making memories so there will be no homework set.

All I ask is that you READ as regularly as you can.

We would just like to express our sincerest gratitude to you for your continued support this year. I truly believe that we are a partnership who work together to try and give the best for your child and it is lovely to have seen your own hard work in supporting your child’s learning this year.

Thank you also to those of you who wrote wonderful notes and gave lovely gifts. We have been overwhelmed by your care and kindness and greatly appreciate the thought and time you have given to us.

It has truly been a pleasure and a privilege to support your children this year.

As this year ends we sadly have to say goodbye to Mrs Hall. Mrs Hall has worked in our class since November and has made an amazing contribution to the learning of Year 2.

We all truly wish her the best in her next adventure but want her to know that she is always welcome back in our class!

Thank you so much, Mrs Hall!
