We’re coming to the end of our topics on rivers, the human life cycle and our work on Romeo and Juliet. Next week we’ll put the finishing touches to this work and also complete assessments in reading. We’ve had a really big focus on our reading and many of the children have really taken up the challenge of reading daily and I’m sure the results will reflect this. Thanks to parents who have encouraged their children in this area and next week we will give out the reading certificates to children who have completed their reading bookmarks. Next week we will also have our Book club, when we will join together to celebrate in our three groups to discuss the books we have read as part of the Lent reading challenge.

On Thursday at 9.15 am Year 5 will lead the whole school in a reflection on the Crucifixion of Jesus. We would like to invite those parents and grandparents who are able to, to join us in this reflection of the events of Good Friday.

If you have a piece of unwanted clothing that you would like to donate to Barnardo’s as part of our class Lenten promise, then please bring it in by Friday. I will take all donations to Barnardo’s after school on Friday. Thank you for your support.
