As part of our literacy work in Year 5, we are working on 'Much Ado About Nothing' by William Shakespeare. The children have been working hard to understand the play and I've been really pleased at their enthusiasm and engagement - we certainly have some budding actors and actresses in Year 5!

As you will already be aware, Mrs Ormerod has organised to watch the live performance of this play, titled 'Loves Labours Won', direct from the RSC and Year 5 will be watching this too on the 30th April. Parents of Year 5 are also invited and I hope you will also consider coming to the family workshop that Mrs Ormerod is organising. The workshop is a great way to gain an understanding of the play before watching, and it will also be a chance to see for yourselves some of the techniques that we have been using in class. Please talk to your child about the work we have been doing in class - you'll be amazed at how much the children already know about the play and its characters! I will be posting some photos of the great work they have been doing very soon!
