We have had a great first week in Year 3. The children have been fantastic to teach and they are so eager to learn! The children have settled in beautifully and are taking the move to the juniors in their stride. I am really looking forward to the year ahead and what it will bring.
In Maths this week we have started by recapping our number bonds to 10 and then looking at our number bonds to 100. The children impressed me with their knowledge and hard work.
In English we have focused on reading and spelling - please see my separate blog post about Accelerated Reader for more information about our school reading scheme.
In Science we have started our topic on Rocks and the children enjoyed sharing what they already knew about this subject and what they wanted to find out.
In R.E. we have started to think about our Christian family and special times we have spent with our own families. The children's contributions to discussions around this were so lovely and heartfelt, they really made me smile!
Please see the homework tab of the Year 3 page for details of this weeks homework.
If you would like to discuss anything with me please feel free to speak to me at the end of the school day.
Have a great weekend.
