Our 4 day week really flew by. I hope you all enjoyed a nice three day weekend. To start our week the children continued to learn all about mountains and volcanoes in their new Geography topic. They also drew the Mona Lisa in their Art lesson - there were some very impressive attempts!

In English this week we created actions to the poem we have been looking at in our poetry topic - the Water Cycle - and then performed them. In Maths we are finishing up our topic on time and will be looking at roman numerals on an analogue clock next week.

I have been really impressed with the children's tennis skills in their weekly lesson. We definitely have some natural players in the class! The children really enjoy these sessions and towards the end of term we will be heading over to the tennis club for our final lesson.

In History this week we were looking at Roman clothing. The children made their own brooches and really enjoyed dressing up in a toga!

Award winners this week (no Maths or Writing awards due to Pop Idol auditions and a shorter week):

Golden - Gabriella

On a final note...I am a little disappointed with the amount of children who are not reading daily at home. I understand that we all lead busy lives but even if the children read for ten minutes before bed it would be greatly appreciated by myself and very beneficial for your child.

No homework this week!
