We have had a very exciting week in Year 3! Our chicks arrived on Monday and started to hatch on Wednesday. We now have 9 lovely little chicks! We are hoping to work out shortly whether we have boys, girls or a mixture of both. The children have loved seeing the hatching process, as well as being able to hold and stroke them. We have them until next Friday so we will get lots of cuddles in before then. The children have been keeping a chick diary and they are very informative!
The children have been learning about place value in Maths this week and continuing to look at Macbeth in English. In Science, the children drew some beautiful pictures of plants and then labelled the parts afterwards. We are still waiting for our runner bean seeds to shoot through the soil, and are watering them every day to help them along.
A huge well done to Lily, Audrey and Caitlyn who performed in our Macbeth performance this week at the Grand Theatre. You were absolutely fantastic and we are all very proud of you.
This past week we have been taking part in the 100,000,000 minutes challenge. Today we submitted our minutes for the week and we have read over 14,000 minutes as a class. How amazing is that? We need to keep this up Year 3 and carry on being the fantastic readers that we are.
Our awards this week go to:
Maths: Zach F-S
No homework this week - however, please can the children ensure they complete chapters 1 and 2 of their 'I Belong' book ready for the Holy Communion meeting on Tuesday.
Have a lovely weekend.
