We have had a fabulous week in Year 3!

In Maths we have been looking at subtracting by counting on and relating this to money. The children have worked really hard on this and have enjoyed the challenge.

In English we have completed our descriptions of the witches and they are great! The children have worked hard to use effective language in their writing to build up a picture in the reader's mind of what the witches might have looked like.

In Science we have started a new topic - plants. We have planted some runner bean seeds that will turn in to seedlings in the next 10 days or so. Once they do this we are going to test how important the requirements for plant growth are.

I am very excited to share with you that on Monday we are getting a very special delivery - chicks! They will arrive unhatched and in their incubator and we will be with them on their journey to hatching, and for a few days afterwards too. The children are absolutely thrilled, as you can imagine!

Thursday was World Book Day and this year we are taking part in the 100,000,000 minutes challenge. The children have been given a bookmark to record their daily reading time - please ensure they fill this in over the weekend.
