We have had a wonderful last week of term in Year 3.

In English we have started to look at the three witches in Macbeth and how we might describe them. After half term we will be writing our very own descriptions.

In Maths we have continued to look at fractions and have been busy working out fractions of amounts. The children have become fantastic at solving these and have really used their growth mindsets as fractions can be tricky!

Over half term please can the children who have yet to complete the 500 live words stories please finish them. They need to be handed in to school on the first day back after the holidays and will be classed as the children's homework over half term. On the letter I sent out last week there is an e-mail address to send in the entries electronically. However, if you do not have a computer at home the children can bring them in handwritten and can type them up at school. Please note: there was also a consent slip attached to this letter that needed to be returned to school as soon as possible. There are still some children who have yet to return these. Please ensure these are returned on the first day back after the holidays. If you have misplaced your letter please see Mrs Wilson in the office.

I would like to invite all parents in to the Year 3 classroom after school on Tuesday 20th February (the day the children return) to see the magnetic forces games the children have created and to test them out. I was hoping to invite you in this week however with the work being undertaken on the infant playground it seemed wise to arrange it for after half term.

Award winners this week are:

Golden: Joseph and Audrey

Writing: Ryan and Vinny

Maths: Hollie

Have a happy and healthy half term.
