We have ended a lovely week in Year 3 with a very special service at Church this morning to celebrate Candlemas. The children behaved fabulously and were a credit to the school. A special thank you to our readers: Megan, Leo and Audrey.
In English this week we have immersed ourselves in Macbeth - specifically the battle scene at the start of the play. We spent some time acting it out and generating lots of super describing words that we could use in our writing. The children have then blown me away today with the quality of their writing - they wrote in the first person as Macbeth to describe the aftermath of the battle. I can't wait to get them on display!
In Maths we have continued working on our fractions and thinking about equivalent fractions too. We are finding this a little bit tricky but we are going to persevere and use our growth mindsets to help us through!
In Science we have been designing some activities around magnetic force that could be used at a Science fair. I am hoping to invite you all in to school to test these out for us one night after school next week - I will keep you updated as to what night this will be.
