What a fabulous first week back we have had after half term. The children have come back well rested and ready for the term ahead.
This week has been very special as we celebrated the feast of All Saints. On Thursday morning we went over to Church for Mass; and we have also been looking at some of the different Saints in class. We have researched them and also created our own prayers to thank the Saints for the things we are grateful for in our lives. We also heard in Mass that this year is the Year of the Eucharist. We will be looking at this in more detail in class as the year progresses.
A letter has come home regarding our class trip next Wednesday. Please ensure all slips and monies are returned to school by Tuesday at the latest. All relevant information is on the letter.
In Maths this week we have been looking at time, in particular quarter past, half past and quarter to.
In English we have finished our fables and we will be starting to learn all about Shakespeare’s ‘A Comedy of Errors’ next week.
In Science we have learnt all about Mary Anning who was one of the greatest fossil hunters in the world. The children were fascinated to learn about her discoveries.
In History we have learnt about Stone Age animals and we will be creating a safari guide about them next week.
We have also started a new subject - Geography. We are going to be learning all about Europe this term.
Our award winners this week are:
Golden - Elliot
Writing - Cianna
Please see the homework section of the Year 3 site for details of this weeks tasks.
Have a lovely weekend.
