We have had a great second week back in Year 3, and have been very busy!
In Maths we have been working on our partitioning skills and using this knowledge to add two digit and three digit numbers. The children have worked so hard on this and it really shows in their work.
In English we have been finishing off our narrative writing ready to start our Macbeth topic next week.
In Science we have done an investigation this week as to what materials are attracted to magnets - some of us looked at whether all coins are magnetic and we discovered that the answer is no! There are some 2p and 1p coins and also some 5p and 10p coins that are not magnetic if they were made before a certain date!
In P.E. we have started a gymnastics topic which the children are really enjoying.
The children were so thrilled at getting homework last week that they have asked for more this week! Please see the homework tab of the Year 3 page for details.
This week we also watched the 500 live words lesson. The children have come home with their planning sheets and further details can be found here: http://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/p00rfvk1?dm_i=3YNL,BLW3,2M74JD,179O8,1
The closing date for entries is the 22nd February so I would suggest the children make sure they have their entries back in to school for the 19th so that I can read over them if the children would like me to.
Award winners this week:

Writing - Analiese
