It was lovely to welcome Bishop Michael to our school this week. The children enjoyed meeting him and put forward some questions that they would like to know about him. We found out that Bishop Michael comes from Ireland but has been living in the UK for some time now. We also found out about his special ring.

We have been thinking more this week about having a Growth Mindset and exactly what that means. The children know that perservance is key and that if we try our best we will eventually reach our goals. Our brains are growing all the time!

In Maths we have been continuing to look at partitioning numbers and the children have learnt how to partition numbers in different ways. I have been impressed with how hard the children have been working on this.

In English we have been looking at setting and mood and also sequencing events from a story. We are also carrying on with reading Stig of the Dump which the children are really enjoying. We have made some interesting predictions as to what we think might happen next.

Our certificate winners this week are:

Golden Award: Thomas

Writing Award: Sophie

It was lovely to meet those of you who attended the Meet the Teacher event on Thursday. Please can I ask that all the forms from the pack you received are returned to school as soon as possible.

Thank you
