Wow I can't believe we are only a few weeks away from Christmas! The time really is flying in Year 3.
In Maths this week we have been focusing on 2D shapes and their perimeter. We started off by working out what perimeter is and then working out the perimeter of different 2D shapes. We then moved on to measuring the shapes with a ruler ourselves and working out their perimeter that way. We have found this a bit tricky but we are persevering and not giving up!
In English we have finished writing our persuasive letters and have just started to look at a science fiction story. Today the children created their own robots and created mini stories about them. I was very impressed.
In Science we have moved on to our Forces topic and we started off with an experiment to test how toy cars move on different surfaces.
I would like to invite you to come in after school on Thursday 8th December to see our Rock and Fossil Museum which will be based on our recent Rock topic in Science. The children have thoroughly enjoyed learning about rocks and you will have the opportunity to view the work they have completed. I hope you can make it.
Advent begins on Sunday and in R.E. the children have been learning about the meaning behind the advent ring.
Please make sure you read this weekend and practice your spellings!
Can I take this opportunity to say a huge well done to the children who took part in the athletics competition this week - I am so proud of you all and I know Miss Haggerty is too.
Our award winners this week are:
