This week I have been so impressed by the effort the children are making with their reading. They are thoroughly enjoying reading their books and making notes; and then quizzing after. On this note, can I please remind you all to encourage the children to make their own notes each time they have read. It will help them greatly when they are quizzing and with their comprehension skills.

In Maths this week we have been rounding numbers to the nearest 10 or 100. We have used lots of practical equipment for this including bead strings and Base 10. We then used number lines to show how we could round using those as well.

In English we have completed writing a description about a beach setting; with a focus on creating a happy and excited mood. I am looking forward to reading what the children have written.

In P.E. the children have been creating their own Stone Age dance with a partner. They performed what they had done so far this week and they were all brilliant and well put together. Well done Year 3.

Each Monday the children will be coming home with a spelling log book which will have some spellings in that they need to learn that week. I will then test them on these the following Friday. Please ensure the children are taking the time to practice these. If you follow this link it will take you to a page that describes some strategies for learning spellings.

Our awards this week went to:

Have a great weekend.
