Welcome back, I hope you all have a fantastic Christmas Holiday and are ready for another exciting term.

In mathematics the children will continue to their work on place value, placing 3 digit numbers on a number line and will multiply 2 digit and 3 digit numbers, by 10. They will also be looking at adding and subtracting pairs of numbers including adding 10 and 100 to 3 digit numbers. Once again we will have our regular times tables challenges and maths driving tests! So we can all have a license!

This term in literacy the children will be looking at science fiction texts and creating their own invention to inspire their writing. This topic will create a link to other areas of the curriculum this term. We will also have our termly spelling bee so don't loose your list!

Also this term the children will begin to start their work on Shakespeare looking at Macbeth, these sessions will take place on Friday morning. The children will study the text using active approaches and we will work with the RSC to create a performance in the Summer term.

In science they will be exploring how amazing the human body is and how important it is that we take care of it. They will investigate the impact nutrition has on our bodies and the role specific organs play in keeping us healthy.

In ICT the children will use digital cameras to make a short narrated video, linked to their choice of either, a health issue or their scientific creation.

In history we will begin our journey through time, starting with the Celts and then on to the Roman invasion. Culminating in our very own Roman Day! So get ready to dress up and experience life as a Roman.

In DT we will be making our very own moving monster based on our literacy work!

All in all a very exciting term!

Finally can I thank you all for your cards and gifts I was very touched, thank you.
