Well the children have been hard at work all week and they have all been my little stars.....but these are the children who have really shone.

Golden Award - Jacob for being a wonderful help this week and a great friend. Jacob has shown that he is following the example of Christ.

Writing Award - Theo for an amazing kenning poem about his underwater sea creature. Theo worked really hard and produced a super piece of work.

Maths - Grace for applying her partitioning skills to missing number problems.

Nativity - All the children have been have been given their role for the KS1 nativity! Rehearsal start on MONDAY so please can you make sure that your child has their script in school if they have been given one. Thank-you. I will sent home song sheets next week too so that the children can work on their singing!!

English - we have finished our work on poetry this week. The children have written their poems about their underwater sea creature using kennings, alliteration and rhyme.

Maths - we have been working on adding and subtraction two digit numbers, first adding/subtracting the 10's and then the 1's.

Science - in Materials we examined the properties of a range of materials and described using scientific vocabulary.

RE - we have been writing to God to say thank-you for all that He has given us.

As the children have probably told you, Mrs Bowdell had an accident at weekend which means she now has her leg in plaster. We are not doing too well in Year 2 for arms and legs in plaster! This means that she is not in school and won't be for a while. We now have full support in place to help me and the children in class. I can only apologise if your child has not completed their reading quizzes this week or brought home a new book - I promise all will be 'back to normal' next week. Thank-you for your patience and understanding.

Homework - reading - please read any books for home if your child has not got a school book. Sign their reading record as normal. Thanks. Number work - adding and taking away 10's and 1's. All children know the Golden Rule of adding/subtracting 10 is that the 1's digit remains the same.

Thank-you...have a lovely weekend...Mrs Hollinghurts
