What a lovely week we have had in Year One. The children have created their very own rainforest display which looks fantastic! They worked in 4 groups each creating a layer of the rainforest. They have also learned about the animals you find in the rainforest and used paint and tissue paper to design some of them for our display.

In Maths we have been looking at fractions: quarters and halves. The children have created a brilliant understanding of fractions of shapes and halving numbers. We have also been creating our own story maps which we will use to write our own adapted version next week.
In RE we learned about doubting Thomas this week and we thought about how he may have felt and when we have felt like doubting Thomas. The children were very thoughtful in their responses.
In PE we have continued with our focus on throwing and catching, if you happen to be out and enjoying the sun this weekend take a ball with you and see the progress they have made!

Please continue your fantastic reading over the weekend, feel free to write in the reading log if you have read some books which have come from home!

Have a lovely bank holiday weekend.

Miss Dixon and the Year One Team.
