What a group of wonderful writers we have had this week. Every child had produced their own version of the story 'Why dog lives with man' and what a fantastic job they have done. I am so proud of how focused and perseverant they have been all week, it really had paid off in their writing and illustrations.

We have also enjoyed revisiting shapes in Maths. The children are all very confident at describing properties of 2D and 3D shapes. We have played lots of exciting games to practice our knowledge of shapes and their properties.

For our Geography and Science this week we continued to look at the rainforests of the world and animals which live in the rainforest. We recapped our learning about the 5 senses and we thought about how the animals may use them in the rainforest.

*Our Royal afternoon* On Thursday we enjoyed a lovely Royal lunch thanks to the hard work of our kitchen staff, they did and always do make lovely lunches for the children. We enjoyed our lunch with special wedding crowns and we continued the party into the afternoon! We had dancing, tea parties, castle making and lots of designing. Please see the Year 1 - Galleries section for photos of our day.

Have a lovely weekend and enjoy the Royal wedding celebrations!
