We have loved learning and playing in the sunshine this week. I do hope it continues! In maths we have been making and interpreting graphs this week, the children have worked really hard. We used data from our class including: favourite colours, eye colours and preferred ways of getting to school to make our own graphs out of cubes and wooden blocks. We also made graphs in our books and we answered questions about the graphs. If you want to have a go at graphs related activities have a go at the fishing pictogram game on topmarks.

Thank-you for making a great start to our reading challenge in Year One. The children are focusing on their writing targets aswell as reading in school and we are seeing big improvements in their choice of vocabulary. We have also started to learn a new story 'Why dog lives with man' which we will retell and use to write our own versions this half term.

In RE we learned about when Jesus returned to his disciples in the upper room. We talked about when we have been surprised and the feelings which the disciples would have felt. In Science we labelled parts of a plant and the children planted their own sunflowers. We are going to keep a record of how they grow to make sure we look after them well.

On Thursday next week we will be going to the life education bus, there is a parent session on Wednesday 9-9.15am if you would like to stay after dropping the children off in the morning.

Have a lovely weekend.
