We have had a busy week in Year One! As you know it was world book day on Thursday and we enjoyed a book filled morning with lots of fun activities, we read in the library, did a comprehension activity on the computer, listened to a story, completed a book review and played 'guess the character' - we had lots of fun!

We have also been doing lots of measuring this week in centimeters, meters and weighing in grams. The children are becoming very confident when using a measuring tool. Please continue to use these at home when you can. Lots of children are also showing how well they know their 2, 5 and 10 times tables which is great as we need to know them in year one.

We have continued to learn about Queen Elizabeth II in history and the children have really enjoyed learning about her and her achievements throughout her reign. If you do draw any pictures or research about her or any of or other Kings and Queens please do bring it in to show.

For our PE we did speed stacking and watched some speedy speed stackers. The children really enjoyed the challenge and they worked really nicely together which was lovely to see.

Please see the Year One - Homework section of the website to learn all about our reading challenge which is on until next Friday. The key part is to read every day (including during weekend) good luck!
