….just like John the Baptist, we have been preparing ourselves for the Lord by thinking of our actions and how we treat others. All of the children have been working hard on this, by these are the children we are celebrating this week…..

Golden Award -

Writing Award -

Maths Award -

This week we have been learning…..

English - this week the children have been completing their RWI individual assessments for this term. Any outstanding assessments will be completed next week. The children have all worked very hard and showing pleasing improvements over the course of the term.

Maths - this week we have been reviewing the part part whole method, how to write addition calculations and how to use a number track to help us count on.

RE - we have been learning about Mary’s visit to her cousin Elizabeth and how the two women shared the news of their babies. We have learnt about Elizabeth’s son, John, and how his role was to Prepare the way for the Lord.

NATIVITY - Year 1 and 2 will present Wriggly Nativity to the whole school on Monday and then to parents/grandparents on Tuesday at 9.30am and then again at 2pm. Please ensure you bring your tickets with you. We have limited space in the hall and the tickets have been issued to ensure we actually have enough room for you all to sit down! Thank-you for your co-operation with this matter.

CHRISTMAS CARDS - thank-you so much to those of you who have donated £1 to our class collection - rather than send in cards for the children. The money is for the Sanderson family and Christies Hospital as they continue to care for our beloved Amy. Please help if you can - through your donations and by keeping Amy and her family in your prayers. We talk about Amy every day in class and I know the children miss her - it is particularly poignant at this time of year as we gather our families around us. Please support our cause. Thank-you.

Keep up the reading and handwriting practice.

Have a lovely weekend….Mrs Hollinghurst and the Year 1 team
