It has been lovely to welcome Year One back this week. They have all had wonderful stories to share about their time over the holidays and they are refreshed and ready to learn!

In maths we have been learning how to read the time, particularly o'clock and half past. Please continue practicing this at home when you can, on analogue clocks and digital clocks! The children have also been learning about how long seconds, minutes and hours are. We have enjoyed one minute challenges and relay challenges this week.

We have started learning Rumpelstiltskin with the hope to make our own versions of the traditional tale in the coming weeks. The children are really enjoying the story and getting to grips with the characters.

Please bring in one photo from your child's baptism or christening before Thursday next week, if you wish to share it. We are learning about religious celebrations in RE and it would be lovely for the children to share their own pictures.

Friday 26th January - Pirate day! We will have a day of treasure hunts and problems to solve. Please don't worry about buying a new pirate outfit, a stripy top and jagged cut old trousers will do the trick!

Have a lovely weekend.

Miss Dixon and the Year One Team.
