We have come to the end of our half term and my has it flown! The staff in Year 1 have been blown away with the fantastic improvements children have been making in many areas of the curriculum and that is due to their focus, hard work and determination. It is hard to believe there is just one half term left for the children in Year 1, they are beginning to show they are ready to move to Year 2.

This week we have been looking at 2D and 3D shapes, the children have a super understanding of the shapes and their properties. We went on a 3D shape hunt on Wednesday and the children were very knowledgeable describing shapes and how many edges, faces and vertices they have.

In English the children have made some non-fiction booklets about the rainforest to share with Year 3. I have seen a big improvement in handwriting and punctuation - welldone Year 1!

-Learning logs will be due on the first day back (Thursday 8th June) so please complete these during the half term break.
-If your child is being picked up by somebody else (another parent, friend or family member that we do not know) please call school to let the us know.
-Enjoy reading over the break! You could swap the iPad or television for a book, it doesn't have to be for long!

We hope you have a lovely break and enjoy the sunshine. Don't forget to keep up with the sun cream!
