We have had an exciting week in year one. In maths we have been looking at the time: O'clock, half past, quarter past and quarter to! Please keep practicing reading the time at home, the children have really done well with this and challenging word problems! On Tuesday, Peter Rabbit came and hid 9 clocks in the classroom and outside! We had lots of fun recording the times he had hidden when we found them.

In English we have been making our own poems using The sound collector by Roger McGough as our stimulus. The children have created some fantastic poems using sounds in the rainforest and we have placed them in a sound bag, ready to go on our display!

In Science we have been exploring our school grounds looking for particular plants and flowers, please see the Year 1 - Galleries section of the website to see all of our photos! We used magnifying glasses to look at the different parts of the plant more closely.

Learning logs are due back next Wednesday and we will have our spelling test next Friday.

Thank-you for your support in reading at home (atleast 3 times a week!) and completing the reading diary.

Have a lovely weekend.
