We have been busy writing in year one this week. We have written our adapted version of The Gingerbread Man! I have been so impressed with the focus and effort which the children have put into their stories. The children have brand new exciting writing books which we have put their stories into. They have been self assessing their stories too - I have been blown away with the maturity and honesty they have shown when checking if they have included certain things in their writing. Many children in the class have enjoyed helping their peers with their writing which has been lovely to see.

In maths this week we have been looking at division and how we share an amount into different groups depending on what the sum says. We are always working on our subtraction in maths, for their maths homework I have sent a board game which involves subtraction, I hope you enjoy it!

Next week we will be looking at a variety of traditional tales to finish off our English topic and in maths we will be revisiting measurement.

Learning logs have gone home tonight and they are due back on Wednesday 22nd March.

We hope you have a lovely weekend.
