Firstly, I would like to congratulate and thank all of Year One for being fantastic ambassadors of the school on our trip to the Sea Life Centre. We thoroughly enjoyed our day and we learned lots about the different animals which you can find in the sea. Please go to the Year 1 - Galleries section of the website to see a selection of photos from the day.

We have had a lovely week filled with lots of learning and rehearsals - the children have continued to work very hard, even with all of the excitement which has come with Advent! In maths we have continued to work with money and recognizing coins, the children have become very familiar with the value of coins.
In Science the children have learned about the different animal groups and they have grouped the animals together. Throughout the topic the children have created a great understanding about animals and their similarities and differences.

In RE we learned about Mary, Our Mother and how she is here for us too. The children were very understanding and they made some lovely list poems about Mary. We have also been thinking about gifts that we could give this Christmas: love, joy, kindness and smiles. I wonder if you receive any of those gifts this weekend!

Books will be changed on Monday, back to normal next week!

Have a great weekend.

Miss Dixon and the Year One team.
