I have been so impressed by how the children have come back to school. They were certainly ready for year 1. It has been a very busy first week, which I am sure will only get busier!

Our first topic in year 1 is ourselves and who looks after us. The children have been thinking about themselves and how important it is to put effort into everything they do. From next week the children will be moving their picture on the effort meter when they have a spare minute to reflect on how hard they are trying in class.

The children have been working very hard to earn marbles which allowed them some golden time this afternoon. The children have improved their lining up speed and ability to sit on the carpet nicely. Well done year 1!

There will be a 'meet the teacher' meeting on Wednesday the 21st September at 3pm. This will allow you to ask any questions you may have and allow me to let you know some of our plans over the year. I am looking forward to meeting you all properly!

PE days are on Monday and Wednesday. On Mondays we will be doing dance and on Wednesdays we will be practicing our ball skills, hand eye co ordination and many more things outside!

It was very hard to decide the winner of the golden award this week as all of the children have been trying very hard in Year 1. Our winner this week is Ivy, for super effort in all that she has done. Well done!

Have a lovely weekend and we look forward to seeing you next week.
