We have been working hard in the kitchen area today making our very own spring rolls. The children listened carefully to Mrs Mahoney and followed the instructions to make their delicious spring rolls to celebrate Chinese New Year. They have also made Chinese lanterns and ordered the animals from The Great Race. We will continue learning about China and the Chinese New Year next week.

In RWI we have continued our group work and learned one new sound:
or - Shut the door
In Maths we have started to look at coins, we have been counting 1p and 2p coins. I have been really impressed with our counting in twos! This is something we will continue to look at over next week and throughout the year.

In PE this week we have enjoyed exploring ways to get over the dragons back (the bench), throwing and catching in the air, hopping, jumping and doing pencil rolls. I have been blown away by the children’s focus, creativity and confidence to have a go. They were so co-operative and hardworking, it really allowed them to show how much they can achieve in just 2 sessions! I hope to have more apparatus for us to experiment with on Monday.

In RE we learned about people who help us and the children thought about how we could say thank-you and show that we are thankful, they made some lovely cards with great writing for the people they wanted to thank. Next week we will think about how Jesus can help us and how he helped others.

We will have show and tell next Friday 15th February, which is also the day we break up for half term at 3.25pm.
Have a lovely weekend, I hope you have enjoyed the spring rolls.
