The children have really impressed me this week, they seem to have really settled into life in Reception. We have enjoyed completing our creation wheels, which are now on display! The children have been practising the hymn which we will sing as part of Monday’s harvest assembly, ‘He’s got the whole world in his hands’. I wonder if the children could sing this for you at home?

In Read Write Inc this week, we have had a real focus on Fred talking the sounds of a word, then blending them together to make the word. Aswell as this, the new sounds we have learned are:

  • g - Round her face, down her hair and give her a curl

  • o - All around the orange

  • c - Curl around the caterpillar

Please practice the sounds we have learned in class on the children’s special RWI mats at home, it will really help them to embed the sounds.

The children have been learning all about the number 4 this week. The children are now aware of many different ways that 4 can be represented.
