It has been a very busy term in Reception so far and we have really worked hard for our October break.

We have been learning about ourselves - the things we are good at, what we look like and how we can be good friends - and have been focusing upon the stories of Funnybones, The Rainbow Fish and the Gruffalo. We have worked really hard to write rhyming words using our robot arms and have been nail painting to look at number bonds to 5.

When we return from our break we will be learning all about the Hindu Festival of Diwali and the story of 'Owl Babies'. Please feel free to read the story at home if you already have it!

Next half term will also be building up to our Christmas Production and we will be asking children about which parts they would like to have.

I hope you all have the packs from our Parent Consultations to help support your child's learning over the holidays. Attached below are some links to websites you can use with your child to reinforce their learning over the school break.

Letters and Sounds - this site contains lots of great games to support our phonics.

Counting Caterpillars
 - A great game to help children to recognise numbers and order them to 10.

Post a Letter - A game to help children recognise numbers to 20 (particularly useful for those tricky teen numbers!)

Save the Whale - A game to help children learn their number bonds to 10.

Have a lovely half term and I look forward to seeing everyone on the 8th November!
