The whole of Our Lady of the Assumption came together today for a poignant 2 minutes silence and special assembly to remember 11.11.11.

The school listened to a lovely assembly by Year 6 pupils who explained about the significance of the time and date and also why we wear poppies to remember the fallen and also the people who serve to protect us and others around the world.

The assembly came to an end with a member of each class bringing a poppy to the front of the hall to 'plant' in a display which we had created.

A simple, but moving way to celebrate this special day!
